Godsmack frontman Sully Erna will appear in an upcoming film titled ‘Bleed for This.’ The movie is being executive produced by Martin Scorsese and stars Miles Teller, Aaron Eckhart and Katey Sagal.

According to a press release, ‘Bleed for This’ tells the true-life story of boxing champion Vinny Pazienza (played by Teller), who was injured and left with a broken neck in a near-fatal car accident at the peak of his career. After months of recovery, Vinnie Paz returned to the gym and made a triumphant return to the ring just over a year later.

It’s not the first time Erna appears on the big screen, the Godsmack frontman was in the 2003 horror film ‘Army of the Damned’ and he was also was seen in a 2007 episode of  the Courteney Cox TV ‘Dirt.’ No word yet on what role Erna will play in 'Bleed for This.'

‘Bleed for This’ is being directed by Ben Younger, who also helmed the 2000 film 'Boiler Room.' Production will begin production on Monday (Nov. 10) in Vinny Paz’s home state of Rhode Island.

The producers of the film are looking for up to three thousand extras to fill the event center at Twin River Casino in Lincoln, Rhode Island on Nov. 12. According to the Verdi Productions, they need 1,500 people from 6 AM to 12 PM and another 1,500 from 1 Pm to 7 PM. Food and drinks will be served and they will raffle off gifts like  TV’s, movie tickets, gift certificates and boxing gloves signed by five-time champion Vinny Paz, who will be on hand to meet the legend.
