What could be better than beer, brawls and backchecking? Or foam, fights and forechecking? Any way you look at it, it's a hockey-fest this weekend at the Events Center adjacent to the El Paso County Coliseum. And, yes, cerveza will be served. You can even belly up to the convenient bar that runs right up to the glass.

The Western States Hockey League's version of the Frozen Four -- the Thorne Cup Finals -- will have six games on tap for sports fans in the round-robin tournament. Games start at 2 p.m. MDT and at 7:30 p.m. MDT. The El Paso Rhinos will play the night games in all three of their first-round match-ups. The Dallas Ice Jets represent the Mid-West Conference and play the Rhinos tonight, while the Western Conference champion Fresno Monsters take on the Mountain Conference champion Idaho Junior Steelheads this afternoon.

The best two records after everybody plays everybody will face-off in the Thorne Cup Final Sunday at 4:30 p.m. MDT.

Here's some great Rhinos hockey action -- hits, goals and more -- set to The Who's classic, Baba O'Riley.
