Murdered Woman Mistaken For Halloween Decor in Ohio Community
Residents of Chillicothe, Ohio, are in shock after a woman was found hanging from a fence on Tuesday morning. Reported by WKRC, one neighbor saw the body and thought it was a Halloween decoration used to prank the construction workers. Unfortunately, a lot of people do call 911 around Halloween thinking dummies are actually bodies, but this one was a real murder victim.
One neighbor even told her daughter that the body was probably just a dummy. She was completely wrong. A group of construction workers found the body of around 8:30 a.m. hanging from her sleeve on a chain-link fence. 31-year-old Rebecca Cade was reportedly badly beaten with a rock by 27-year-old Donnie Cochenour Jr. According to police, Cade was attempting to run from Cochenour when she got caught on the fence. Police arrested Cochenour on Wednesday night and admitted to the brutal murder. His bond is set at $2 million.
Unfortunately, Cade isn't the only women to fall victim to a violent crime. She is one of six women who have vanished or died in Chillicothe since Summer 2014. Police believes the cases are not linked.
