The Motocross De Nations went down this past weekend! 3 days of Motocross and Sunday, Team America ROCKED THAT JOINT!! With guys like Villopoto, Dungey, Roczen and Baggett out there, What did you expect?? Team American on top again!
Congrats to our guys! Going to move along to local racing now, but if you want to know about the big dogs, (points/pics/etc...) follow this link to supercross.com!!
Locally, Arenacross tore up Cohen Stadium Friday and Saturday!! Riders from all over converged on Cohen for 2 nights of racing. Lots of action and lots of wipeouts kept the crowd all revved up! Big get well soon wish to my friend Ryan Parry. He went down Friday night and got banged up pretty good, but he's doing good now! I'm sure we'll see him back in action in NO time.
On top of the racing, we had "Cowboy" Kenny Bartram out this year and he did NOT dissappoint! Whips, seat grabs and more on top of his trademark backflip!! During my interview with Kenny last Friday, we came up with teh best backflip idea ever. I'll let you know if it starts looking like we can pull it off .... right now, I don't want to give up the secret!! :)
Saturday had fireworks to ... BIG props to "The Ultimate Emcee", Glenn Parry and to Todd and his staff at Cycle City Promotions for an awesome event!!
Can't wait for next year!!
Around town, we had lots of bikes rolling in two different events!
Congrat's to The Mad Hatters MC for pulling off the Candlelighters benefit run AND to Survivors MC for a great B.A.D.D. (Bikers Against Drunk Drivers) run!! The turnouts looked good and I know the cause(s) are very worthy and very appreciative for all you did!!
Finally, be on the lookout for a new biker mag coming soon to the southwest! Borderland Biker will be hitting the streets in October and will be LOADED with articles about bikes, bikers, biking ... even a column by me!! :) For more info, or to discuss placing ads, featuring your bike, telling me I'm the greatest, whatever; send an email to ggarza@klaq.com and I'll get you squared away!!
Ride safe!!!!!!!
