‘Monster Squad’ — Brandon’s 30 Days of Horror — Day 10

"Wolfman's got nards!"

If you were a kid of the '80s and don't know this line, you have missed out on one of those '80s gold classics, Monster Squad.  This is probably the first time I've watched Monster Squad in over 20 years, and watching it now I was able to make certain links.  Monster Squad is The Goonies, but with monsters.

• "Fat Kid" is Chunk
• The amulet is One-Eyed WIlly's rich stuff
• There's even a significant pirate reference in Monster Squad
• The monsters are the Fratellis (Dracula is Mama Fratelli, Wolfman and The Mummy are Jake and Francis, and Frankenstein is Sloth)
• Both movies have the same mom, Mary Ellen Trainor

Monster Squad Analysis

It's a kids movie, so if you're expecting serious gross out, or jump moments, you will be disappointed.  It's just a fun movie to watch around Halloween time.
