Local Band 101 – Volume 40: Smokin’ Blue Band

Another look at the story behind some Local Locos!

Everything you ever wanted to know about the Smokin' Blue Band, told in their own words:

The Smokin’ Blue Band’s story is pretty simple: we exist because we all love to have fun and play music.  We play as often as we possibly can, wherever we can.

Smokin Blue consists of Cynthia Rodriguez (vocals), Shawn Martin (bass), Jonathan Maynes (guitar), and Dave Ferris (drums).  As we’ve played together over the last year and a half, our sound seems to be morphing from a traditional blues sound to a heavier sound while keeping the blues influence.  We like to call it “heavy blues.”

By summer, you can expect our new EP, more shows added to our already busy schedule, and work on our first video.  In the meantime, we hope to see you at some shows in the El Paso/Las Cruces area!  Cheers!
