People playing hooky from work, leaving early, taking kids out of school and more. Was the KLAQ Morning Show's April Fools prank too good El Paso?

Once again for another year, the KLAQ Morning Show decided to have another April Fool's Day Prank on El Paso. Our idea this year? To have the San Diego Padres play an exhibition game against the El Paso Chihuahuas right here in El Paso. ABSOLUTELY FREE. We arranged some great commercials to play during the show, audio bits with "players" and "coaches" and even had Fernie on the scene Downtown to check out who actually goes.

So where's the problem?

Well, Buzz got upset when he was told to end the joke because too many people were believing it. From there, he threw a temper tantrum (although he says it was all planned by him), ranted on air for bit, then got up and just walked out of the station to not come back for the end of the show. I spent the next hour panicking thinking how bad could this really be if he was serious. Fernie, on the other hand, asked if he should get a box to start packing up Buzz's thing for him and leave it for him at the door. Mando didn't care, saying it has been long overdue for Buzz to throw a temper tantrum and Kappy agreed.

Luckily, Buzz was back this morning, acting like it was a huge April's Fools joke he played on me. But I know the truth. I can see a giant crybaby when I see one.

The joke we played on El Paso was great though. Here are some of the memorable Tweets and Facebook Statuses about the big game between the Padres and the Chihuahuas yesterday.
