Kanye West Goes On Rant About Beck’s Need To ‘Respect Artistry’

Last night, Beck won the Grammy for Album for the Year, beating out artists like Sam Smith and Beyoncé. As he was accepting his award, everyone's heart stopped as Kanye West walked out, making it seem like he was going to storm the stage, again. Luckily, he didn't, but he did end up going on a rant on E! News.

Just when everyone thought Kanye had finally become somewhat likable, he regains his crown for being a jerk. After Beyoncé lost to Beck, Kanye pretend to stand up like he was going to recreate his Taylor Swift interruption at the VMAs, but he sat back down. Everyone thought it was a great joke by Kanye, but then he had to just ruin the fun with his rant.

“I just know that the Grammys, if they want real artists to keep coming back, they need to stop playing with us. We ain’t gonna play with them no more. And Beck needs to respect artistry and he should’ve given his award to Beyonce. Because when you keep on diminishing art and not respecting the craft and smacking people in their face after they deliver monumental feats of music, you’re disrespectful to inspiration. And we as musicians have to inspire people who go to work every day, and they listen to that Beyoncé album and they feel like it takes them to another place.”

 

The only thing stopping Kanye from interrupting Beck's speech, was his daughter, North. He didn't want to do anything to put his daughter at risk, but he believed he got his message across just by walking out on stage. Still waiting for Taylor to get his revenge on Kanye, but maybe she can team up with Beck to make him cry one day.
