Job Fair For Troops And Their Spouses Coming To Ft. Bliss
If you are active duty military, reserves or the spouse of an active duty service member, check this out.
Many active duty service men and women take on side jobs out of neccesity or to prepare for the end of their service career. Even more military spouses look for work but, for both, it can be difficult.
Not being familiar with the area is often a problem since military are always moving around and some employers don't like hiring folks that haven't been in the area long. It seems unfair that troops ... who are risking (or will risk) their lives for all of us ... need second jobs in the first place but, sadly, many can't make it on their pay alone. So help is on the way!
A 2 day job fair has been organized to help military personnel find work. It takes place February 3rd and 4th at The Centennial Club, Building 11199, Sgt. E. Churchill St, East Fort Bliss.
Day one (2/3) will cover Business and Civic Leader Forums from 1pm to 6pm. A reception will follow at 6pm. Register for free at VetJobsSummit2014.eventbrite.com.
The actual job summit and hiring fair takes place on day two. (2/4). Workshops begin at 9:00AM, the hiring fair takes place from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Register for the fair online at hiringourheroes.org. It is best to register but walk - ins will be accepted, though they must bring proof of service.
Workshops will take place on resume building, writing and interview techniques. To register for the workshops, click here. Employers interested in hiring ex or current military personnel are also welcome!
For those not in the El Paso area, there are fairs scheduled at bases across the country, click here to find one near you!
