Joanna’s Guide: 5 Great Movies to Watch for Independence Day

Remember when we were all excited that the fourth of July was on a Saturday this year? The possibilities of how to celebrate were endless. Those were simpler times. We're seven months into the year and we're back to square one. The bars are closed once again. Governor Abbott has banned gatherings of more than ten people. Restaurants are back to operating at 50% capacity. Fireworks are banned in El Paso. 7 Eleven cancelled "Free Slurpee Day." 2020 continues to crush our dreams.

It may sound like a complete downer, but, your Fourth of July weekend doesn't have to suck. You can always get booze to-go. Taco Cabana is having a margaritapalooza with 12 new flavors, and you can add chamoy for free! Netflix and Hulu have added a bunch of new content. Disney+ just added "Hamilton" perfect for this holiday weekend- the point is, there are a ton of great new things to watch this coming weekend. With it being a holiday weekend, I'm sure many of you will want to watch something patriotic. Lucky for you, there are a ton of great movies to choose from.

A quick Google search will no doubt give you a ton of recommendations of what to watch for the holiday weekend. Now, while we can't have gatherings of more than ten people- it could still be a great fourth of July with your family.
