Whataburger Honored This Texas Teacher of the Year with A Generous Donation
Anthony ISD's Teacher Appreciation Week was made even more special this year as Texas restaurant, Whataburger, surprised Teacher of the Year, Hiram Espinosa, with a generous gift.
As part of Anthony ISD's Partners in Education Program, Whataburger donated $1,000 for school supplies to Anthony High School, where Espinosa teaches.
The donation was presented to Espinosa during an assembly on May 6th, where students, teachers, and staff gathered to celebrate his achievement.
Espinosa expressed his gratitude, stating, "I am incredibly humbled by Whataburger’s donation. Being recognized as the Teacher of the Year for our district was a blessing, and I feel even more blessed by Whataburger’s generosity."
The partnership between Anthony ISD and Whataburger highlights the importance of community support in education. Superintendent Dr. Oscar A. Troncoso extended his thanks to Whataburger for honoring Espinosa and recognizing the impact educators have on shaping the future.
In addition to the donation, Whataburger surprised students with cookies and provided tasty menu items for teachers. Tania Moran, Whataburger's Regional Field Marketing Manager, emphasized their commitment to supporting educators like Espinosa who go above and beyond for their students.
Espinosa's dedication to his students is evident in his efforts to foster critical thinking and independence. From organizing esports teams during the pandemic to inspiring students in his English class, Espinosa represents the excellence Anthony ISD strives for in its educators.
As Espinosa continues to make a difference in the lives of students, Whataburger's donation serves as a testament to the impact of community partnerships in education.
