This Texas Neighborhood Features Unbelievable 5-Acre Crystal Clear Lagoon

Everything is bigger in Texas, even the neighborhood swimming pool.

There's one community near Dallas that pretty much has every other neighborhood in the state (or America) beat when it comes to amenities. They don't just have a community pool, they've got a whole lagoon!

The Windsong Ranch is a development in the town of Prosper, which is a suburb just north of Dallas. And boy do they have quite the outdoor space for residents to enjoy.

Windsong Ranch is home to The Lagoon, a five-acre, crystal clear lagoon that brings a Carribean-like lifestyle to the community.

It opened in the summer of 2019 and is currently the second-largest lagoon in the state of Texas. (The largest is the 12-acre Lago Mar crystal clear lagoon in Texas City.)

At The Lagoon, residents can relax in lounge chairs on white sand beaches or enjoy an array of watersports, such as paddleboarding and kayaking, out on the clear turquoise waters.

How amazing is this?! By the way, The Lagoon is only available for residents to use.

If you're thinking that this massive of a "pool" must be expensive to maintain, it's just the opposite, relatively speaking.

The Lagoon uses 100 times less chemicals than traditional swimming pools. It actually only consumes 2% of the energy required by traditional pool filtration systems.
