Texas UPS Man Passes Out While Driving From Heat Related Issues
A Texas UPS worker passed out while driving due to heat-related issues, raising major concerns about the company's lack of safety and welfare for their workers.
DRIVER RELOCATED TO MCKINNEY FOR THE DAY
The driver was asked to work out of a McKinney building on Friday. While delivering, he began to experience heat-related symptoms and quickly called for assistance. Instead of sending help, the driver was advised to drive himself back to the McKinney building, however, he would never make it there.
TERRIBLE CRASH CAPTURED ON VIDEO
According to the Teamsters Union, the driver passed out while driving. Around 7:25 pm, about 6 to 7 hours into his shift, the driver's van was captured on video traveling at high speed, nearly crashing into other vehicles before veering off the road and smashing into trees.
COMPANY CRITICIZED FOR LACK OF SAFETY
"The company continues to place packages over people. This is the third incident in the McKinney building alone," wrote the Teamsters Union.
Anna Police confirmed that a medical incident occurred and was the likely cause of the crash. The driver was released from the hospital a day later.
ANOTHER TRAGIC UPS INCIDENT IN TEXAS
This is not the first heat-related incident from UPS in Texas. Another UPS worker suffered heat-related issues in August 2023.
The worker was seen lying on the floor trying to cool down. Instead of seeking medical assistance, the driver was allowed to go home for the day. He passed away just days later.
