Walmart Store Goes Viral After Revealing Texas-Sized Mega Mum
Three things Texas doesn't play around about are BBQ, Littering, and... Mums! One unbelievably ultra-massive Texas-sized mum is going viral at a Walmart in a small Texas town.
PORT LAVACA WALMART SPORTS MEGA MUM
A Walmart store in Port Lavaca, Texas is going viral after posting a video showing off their custom-made mega-mum. The mum was made by Missy from Missy's Homecoming Mums in Port Lavaca.
The Texas-sized MEGA mum stands about 11 feet tall and has over 300 lights, along with an insane amount of flowers ribbon, and a whole lot of glue. Of course, it wouldn't be a true Texas mum if it didn't have a little bit of Whataburger and Big Red on it.
The mum took days to create, working past midnight to create the massive mum in time to display it before Homecoming.
"Every bit of this mum took blisters crying and a lot of uniqueness," Missy playfully admitted.
Missy shows off the mum, which is proudly displayed inside the store, adding that next year she might be ready to tackle something even bigger, "and maybe next year," Missy says, "Maybe I can make it longer"
MUMS THE WORD!
If you're unfamiliar with mums, they are a mega-popular Texas tradition that is technically, just extremely giant corsages.
Around Homecoming time, students will be seen walking around school with a mum, sometimes, as big as they are. Typically, mums are worn by students while they are at events leading up to Homecoming, like pep rallies, parades, andfootball games. Ironically, they are not normally worn to the actual Homecoming dance, because well, they are just too big!
Fun Fact: Mums is just short for “chrysanthemum," which is the traditional flower to anchor the arrangement.
