Everything is bigger in Texas, and that includes our skate parks. There is one skate park in the Lone Star State in particular that rivals most in the nation with its size. It's loaded with all kinds of features and even has a couple of surprises if you can get a bird's eye look at it. Check out the "Texas" sized surprise you'll find in this massive Lone Star State skate park.

North Houston Skate Park; One Of The Largest In The Nation

The North Houston Skate Park is huge. It's one of the biggest in the nation. The North Houston Skate Park covers 77,000 sq. ft. of space and has been host to skaters from all over the world. Even some of the world's most famous skaters have made a special trip to this public skate park to see it for themselves.

There's a 12 ft. vertical ramp, a 10 ft. deep bowl, banked walls and speed hips, backyard-style pools, 3 flow bowls, and a full-blown street skating experience with rails, stairs, benches, and other obstacles. One of the most interesting features is the competition scale Texas-shaped bowl the park contains.

The Massive Texas-Shaped Bowl At North Houston Skate Park

Looking at the skate park from above, you might not immediately see the Texas-shaped bowl. It took me a second to find it, but once I did it was impossible to un-see.

Doesn't it just hit you right in your Lone Star feels? It's actually pretty impressive and I'm half-tempted to make the road trip to check it out. The best part is that it's open to the public and admission is free. Helmets are required, and they don't allow bikes, scooters, or rip-sticks.
