Texans Love DQ

Dairy Queen enjoys a special love in the state of Texas. Most are even branded "Texas Dairy Queen" with a jingle that says, "That's what I like about Texas...". Your author is also a big fan having served as a Dairy Queen cook, and chief onion ring maker (Yes, they were hand breaded in stores). Now Dairy Queen has something just for Texans.

Saucin' It Up!

I'll admit I'm a big fan of Raising Cane's. The real deal-maker for Cane's is the Cane's Sauce. It's a special proprietary blend that really sets that chicken off. Dairy Queen now has thier own sauce meant for use with their steak fingers and chicken strips. It's a bold claim to call it "Texas Sauce" right out of the gate. I'm going to say it now, it had better be good if I'm going to have it in place of the usual gravy!

The Taste

The new DQ Texas sauce comes with a simple description according to those who tried it, it's somewhat of a blend of barbeque and honey-mustard. The two supposedly combine quite well into a nice dipping sauce. DQ is promoting the concoction as being part of a "Saucy September".

...And For Desert

If that wasn't enough to get you into a DQ, the chain has also introduced a "Pumpkin Pie Blizzard" that sounds out-of-this-world to me. I'm a fan of pretty much everything with a Pumpkin flavor, and this seems to fit the bill. The treat is made with soft serve, pumpkin pie pieces, whipped topping and a sprinkle of nutmeg. Yum!
