An article on current drought conditions featured a Fabens farm as an example of the hardships being faced this summer.

All the western states have less water and water rationing has begun in California where they're expected to run out of water in about a year. Rationing could begin in El Paso to since the Rio Grande is slowly drying up.  A farm owned by Bobby Skov in Fabens is an example of how bad things are getting in the Borderlandod.

According to Skov:

“It’s been progressively worse” since the early 2000s Skov said, adding that his farm would muddle through — if the trend did not continue. “The jury’s out on that.”

According to an MSN article, El Paso uses less water per person than any other city in Texas.  We could soon be forced to use even less.
