Local insurance icon Fred Loya goes way, WAY over he top decorating his east side home for Christmas every year.  This year, the whole country saw it!

Loya was the winner of the Great Christmas Light Fight on the ABC network. On top of the bragging rights, he also picked up $50k!!

He told the El Paso Times last week that, if he won, he would donate the prize money to local charities.

"It was very exciting. We want to get El Paso out there and put our best foot forward for the city. And if we win, I plan to give it to 10 charitable organizations."

Loya beat out a 58' castle, a live animal Nativity scene and another musical light show. Loya's design added 100,000 lights this year, bringing their total bulb count to 450,000!

  • Fred Loya's house is at 12001 Paseo de Oro Drive.
  • Showings are at 6, 7 and 8 Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings as well as Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
