Seattle will rock with the sounds of punk greatness later this month. Four of the city's top musicians will band together to form a one-time only supergroup paying homage to the music of Iggy + the Stooges.

The four-piece band consists of Mudhoney frontman Mark Arm, Pearl Jam and Mad Season guitarist Mike McCready, Guns N' Roses and Velvet Revolver bassist Duff McKagan and Screaming Trees and Mad Season drummer Barrett Martin.

The show, which takes place Aug. 23 on the roof of Seattle's Pike Place Market, is a benefit to raise funds for independent radio station KEXP as they're planning to build a new home for the station.

Fans can enter to win a VIP Experience with the band in return for a donation. One winner will get to join the four musicians at a pre-show dinner and attend the show's VIP after-party.

Earlier this year, McKagan released his book How to Be a Man (And Other Illusions), and he's been rumored to be working former Guns N' Roses bandmate Izzy Stradlin on new music. Stradlin made a guest appearance on a song for McKagan's three-song EP to accompany the book earlier this year.

McKagan and Martin also share a close bond, teaming up in the band Walking Papers. McKagan also guested at a "Sonic Evolution" show earlier this year reuniting Mad Season's Martin and McCready. In July, Martin revealed that he, McCready and McKagan were working on new Mad Season material. As for Arm, he last recorded with Mudhoney on their 2013 album Vanishing Point.
