Actor Danny Trejo will be in Las Cruces to meet fans and to receive the Outstanding Achievement in Entertainment award as part of week-long film festival.

The first annual Las Cruces International Film Festival runs through March 6th. Things start Wednesday at Cineport 10 with a special screening of “The Night is Young”, attended by writer - director David Hill, producer Brian Ferrantino, and "Fifty Shades Of Grey" star, Eloise Mumford.

Several events are planned throughout the festival including a special screening of "Machete", after which, Danny Trejo will answer questions from the audience. There's also a contest to shoot the pilot episode of a tv show set in Las Cruces. All the entries are in with 20 filmmakers competing for $25,000 in cash and prizes plus a deal with Lionsgate films.
