Borderland Roller Derby Looking For New Players and Referees

Even if you've never played before or been a ref, the Borderland Roller Derby is looking for you. Formally known as the Sun CIty Roller GIrls, the Borderland Roller Derby is a banked track roller derby league based right here in El Paso, Texas. There are five teams in the Borderland Roller Derby league:

• Chuco Town Chulas
• Las Catrinas
• Las Diablas
• Sexecutioners
• Las Viudas Negras

While the teams are all female, referees can be male, female, or whatever they want to be. As long as their humans. If you've ever thought about being a referee, now is your time to apply. The borderland Roller Derby is looking for new refs, whether you are able to skate or not. Practices are Monday and Tuesday from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the El Paso County Coliseum Judging Arena. The derby teams are all looking for some "fresh meat." Whether an experienced player or brand new and just want to see if derby is right for you, head to the Borderland Roller Derby for their "Fresh Meat" orientation. The orientation will be held Monday, October 21st at 6 p.m. at the El Paso County Coliseum Judging Arena. The El Paso County Coliseum is located at 4100 East Paisano.
