Area Borderland Museums You May Not Know About

El Paso has lots of things to do including an excellent collection of museums like Insights, the El Paso Museum of Art, the El Paso Museum of History and more.

There are lots more nearby so, the next time you want to take a weekend drive, keep these in mind.

Las Cruces has several museums, like the new Museum of Nature and Science. The Railroad Museum and the New Mexico Farm and Ranch Heritage Museum. Plus, NMSU is home to an art gallery and the Museum of Anthropology. Outside of Cruces, sits the Fort Seldon historic site.

The Museum of Space Murals in Organ has nice collection of space exploration stuff and, of course, the New Mexico Museum of Space History located in Alamogordo is totally worth the trip.

Carlsbad has several museums, as well as a zoo and gardens plus the caverns to explore. If you're going the other way, toward Silver City, be sure and hit up the Silver City Museum.
