Aerosmith's officially getting "back in the saddle" again with a new record.  Guitarist Joe Perry sent a message to fans via Twitter this week saying the band has blocked off the second week of July as a start date.  Producer Jack Douglas will be in the studio with the Boston rockers working on the project.  Frontman Steven Tyler and his bandmates -- not including Perry -- started to write material for the album in California earlier this year.  During the same time period, Steven was starring as a judge on the Fox hit "American Idol."  Perry was initially critical of Tyler's "Idol" gig.  In a more recent interview with "Creem," he said he was happy for Steven's success.
Aerosmith's hitting the road this fall.  The band's next announced concert takes place in Lima, Peru at Estadio San Marcos on October 22nd.
