With movies, it's a pretty safe bet that the first one is always the best. Okay, maybe The Empire Strikes Back is an exception to this, but as a rule, number one is number one. Another game-changing film is the first of its series, with some disturbing imagery, twisted story lines and a fantastic, wild ending.

Jigsaw was unleashed onto an unsuspecting world in October of 2004, when Leigh Whannell and James Wan released the crazy movie Saw into theaters. With much less gore than its successors, the first installment played more upon the psychological fears and terrors than outright gore.

The pig costume is a visually disturbing image, as is the dead body on the bathroom floor between the two main characters. The Princess Bride's Cary Elwes, screenwriter Leigh Whannell, Danny Glover and the amazing Tobin Bell lead this twisting, creepy story along as people are given choices between life or death.
