This weekend local rockers, comedians, disc jockeys, belly dancers and more are coming together for a great cause.

The coolest thing about El Pasos local music scene, lies in how tightly they are bound.  They’re a family and when someone in that family needs help, they’re all over it.  Case in point, the benefit this weekend for Tanya Sanchez-Gier.  Tanya was recently diagnosed with Renal Cell Carcinoma - Stage 4 and is currently being treated at MD Anderson.

She is a fighter and her prognosis is about as good as one can get when dealing with such an aggressive form of cancer.  The disease has taken it’s toll on not only her but her family as well and the 2013 Winter Music Festival has been arranged to help the Gier family deal with the incredible financial burden that has come along with the medical one.

So join us this weekend at The Hydrant to celebrate life and raise money for a great cause.

Also, check out this video of me chatting with Texas Roadkill members Lance and Marco along with friend Vic. Lance informs us of Tanya's recuperation, her status, information on the event as well of lots of 'thank yous'.

If you would like to help Tanya, but are unable to attend, or do not live in the El Paso area, by all means, please contact Lance Gier.

Hope to see you all there!!
