We can't decide if she's the worst aunt ever or the world's worst aunt. Either way, family reunions are now going to be awkward.

A woman in New York sued her 8-year-old nephew after his "forceful" hug knocked her down and broke her wrist. The incident happened back in 2011 but the case finally reached a verdict this Tuesday.

Back on March 8, 2011, Jennifer Connell attended a  birthday party for her nephew at his father Michael Tarala's house. The nephew, Sean Tarala, was "forceful" when greeting her and knocked her down. Connel says the greeting injured her left and the complaint says that this was due to her nephew's "negligence and carelessness."

According to the lawsuit,

"The minor defendant negligently and carelessly caused the plaintiff to fall by knocking her to the ground, resulting in the severe personal injuries, damages, and losses."

The lawsuit also stated that the injury caused her "pain and mental anguish" and Connell had to have surgery. She was seeking $127,000 in damages and the lawsuit even stated that an 8-year-old should have known that a forceful greeting could be harmful.

Keyword is "was" though.

A jury didn't buy her explanation and they only took 40 minutes to rule in favor of the child, who is now 12 years-old. Jennifer Connell did say that the lawsuit has not affected her relationship with her nephew.
