For years, the ghost pepper has unjustly been getting credit for being the world's hottest pepper. However, the ghost pepper was dethroned by the Carolina Reaper, which was named the World's Hottest Pepper by the Guinness Book of World Records in 2013.

Our friend Troy grows his own vegetables and peppers (including the world's top three hottest) and brought the Morning Show a bunch of his Carolina reapers, with the warning that, under no condition, do we try them while on the air. Of course, when you say that to Buzz and I, the only thing we hear is "I DARE you to try these on air. Triple dog dare."

So during Thursday's show, Buzz, Fernie, guest comedian Greg Morton and I gave the reapers a try. Here's what happened when we did:
