Man Killed In I-10 Crash

A Horizon City man is dead following a single-car crash on Interstate 10.  Police say 30 year old Jesus Gonzalez was driving westbound near Sierra Blanca just after midnight yesterday when he failed to navigate a curve and rolled several times.  Investigators believe he was going about 80 mph at the time of the crash.  He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Woman Attacked While Jogging In Horizon City

Police in Horizon City are searching for a man accused of sexually assaulting and threatening to kill a woman. Police say the woman was jogging near Ashford Street and Alderwood Manor Drive Monday night when the man grabbed her from behind and put a knife to her throat. He then allegedly told her that if she screamed, he'd kill her.  The woman was reportedly able to fight him off and escape.  She suffered cuts to her neck and arms but is otherwise uninjured.

Senators Probe Sanctuary Cities After SF Murder

Senators want to know more about sanctuary cities after the murder of a young woman in San Francisco.  Kate Steinle was shot and killed by Francisco Sanchez, an illegal immigrant who'd been deported five times.  In a Senate hearing, Kate Steinle's father Jim described her as happy, kind, caring and loving.  He said the shooter should not have been allowed on the streets of the U.S. Iowa Republican Senator Chuck Grassley said sanctuary policies protect criminals.
