I recently found out they have the show, Doomsday Preppers, on during the day for hours on National Geographic. Which brings up the question: would you ever become a Doomsday prepper?

On the show, people from all different areas of the United States have begun preparing for the end of the world. It amazes me how many different scenarios people have thought of where the world will end. Everything from economic catastrophes, tornado outbreaks, killer comets, electromagnetic pulses, nuclear incidents, fuel shortages, war, pandemics, geomagnetic reversals, societal collapse, terrorist acts, killer earthquakes, and basically anything else they can think of. Almost every family has a different idea of how and why the world will come to an end.

When the families finally decide which way we are all going to go, they begin planning how they are going to survive the worst possible scenario. Everything from security, water, food, shelter, and all the basic needs to survive are a carefully constructed plan so when it happens they are prepared.

Now myself, I can't imagine using my time, money, and effort for this, but I can see why other people feel the need to be prepared. The way the world is now you really don't know what will happen and just like people in California prepare for a catastrophic earthquake, preppers prepare for the worst.

If you're like me and really don't want to spend the time preparing for the end of the world because you want to enjoy the world we're living in now that's okay. All we need to do is find some preppers who would take us in! The first thing we will need is something to bring to the table. Skills that would be appreciated would be hunting skills, medical background, farming skills, desirable property, supplies, or something of the sort. My skill I'd bring to the table? Well, that is something I need to start working on. But I still believe there is time for me to learn. Who knows? Maybe Sportman's Elite can help me out with some gun and archery skills.

What do you think? Would you ever become a Doomsday prepper? Are you already prepping?
