James Dean, Rock Hudson and Elizabeth Taylor Rocked Marfa

Yep, way back when, they called little old Marfa home.

They didn't choose to live there for the desert beauty, the sweet art scene or even the Marfa Lights. They were filming "Giant". While they were there, they made quite an impression on the locals. James Dean would buy buckets of Coca-Cola to walk around handing out to kids and was, apparently, a madman behind the wheel.

Most of the cast stayed at The Paisano but, Elizabeth Taylor and Rock Hudson opted for two local homes right across the street from each other. Every night, Taylor walked across the street in her negligee to have dinner with Hudson. Bet that freaked a few '50s era, small town peeps out. Check out the video for more stories and absolutely visit Marfa sometime. Especially The Paisano. It's still there and it's a beautiful, old hotel.
