I remember back in 1985, my parents taking me to Sound Warehouse to let me shop for some new music. I had saved some money so I could buy what I wanted and didn't have to try to coerce them into parting with any cash to help. It was the coolest feeling to be able to buy my own music, my drug of choice.

What album did I buy?

Metallica's "Master of Puppets" on cassette.

I remember reading the lyrics on the way home, and my mom unhappy about the curse words in the songs. But that was a cool thing about my parents, they never kept me from listening to whatever I wanted to. They might not have like the volumes I'd play my music at, but they never kept me from listening to it.

What was the first album you bought with your own money? Post it below!
