What profession do you think is the deadliest job in America? And who has the highest number of deaths due to violence? It's not cops or firemen.

When you think of the deadliest job in America, many people would immediately think either police officers or firemen, surprisingly it is not. New data released by Bloomberg shows that fisherman actually have the most dangerous job in America. An average of 132 fisherman die for every 100,000 employed between 2006 and 2013. Loggers came in second, with 98 deaths per 100,000 employed.

Garbage collectors are four times more likely to die on the job than firemen and security guards. The cause? According to the study, "transportation incidents" are the cause for 69% of the fatalities.

And bad news for loggers, even though they are almost at the top of the list for fatalities, they are near the bottom of the list for pay. They die more often than police officers and firefighters, but they are paid less than both of the jobs. Agricultural workers also are in the top for fatalities, but actually are at the very bottom for pay.

Surprisingly, the job that has the highest number of deaths due to violence isn't cops or firemen. It's actually taxi drivers. They are more likely to die due to violence rather than a driving accident.

Here's the Top Ten most dangerous jobs in America, along with the number of deaths per 100,000 workers
