This AskReddit thread was right up my alley because I was easily scared as a kid. We can start with Michael Jackson's "Thriller". Didn't matter if it was the full version or the shortened version, I would go running out of the living room. I wouldn't turn the channel. I would run out of the room, and hide under the kitchen table.

Now it's easy to look back at something and think "how was I scared of that as a kid?" The perfect example is my dad was terrified of The Day the Earth Stood Still. The original version. But I think I was a little excessive when it came to being terrified.

A couple of Tim Burton movies that weren't the most pleasurable experiences to me as a kid were Beetlejuice and Pee Wee's Big Adventure. It's easy to point out the Large Marge scene from Pee Wee's Big Adventure but what remember even more than that, is the scene when his bike gets stolen and that damn clown is laughing at him. I'm not scared of clowns, but for some reason that stuck with all these years.

Now, the topper. The king daddy of them all that I was terrified of as a kid. I remember sitting in the theater and actually watching the movie with my hands over my face occasionally peaking to see what was happening. Ghostbusters. Yup, Ghostbusters scared the crap out of me as a kid. Especially when that dog is chasing Rick Moranis.

Who knew that scaredy cat little kid, would end up being someone like me who absolutely loves horror?
