The 2016 El Paso Balloon Festival is finally here, and to celebrate, we grabbed pilot Ken Tocker and had him inflate his balloon, Jelly Beans, in our neighboring parking lot.

It took a crew of over a half-dozen people to get this massive air sack floating, but it was incredible to watch. The balloon was rolled out and attached to the basket with cables. Then, they kicked on a giant fan to fill the balloon up. Once there's enough air to expand the balloon all the way, Tocker kicked on the burners. The hot air lifted up Jelly Beans and we were good to go.

Except we weren't. We got Jelly Beans set up a little too late to actually do any flying today. Balloons have to be flown in the very early morning hours before the sun heats up the atmosphere and kicks up winds. At the end of the video, you'll be able to watch the balloon wobble back and forth in the winds.
