Metallica fans were able to get a sneak peak of Lars Ulrich‘s acting chops when he played a small role in 2010′s ‘Get Him to the Greek’ and on the big screen in Metallica’s 2004 documentary ‘Some Kind of Monster’ (both in which he played himself), but now the famed drummer is taking on a dramatic part in the new HBO film production ‘Hemingway and Gellhorn.’

In ‘Hemingway and Gellhorn,’ which also stars Nicole Kidman and Clive Owen, Ulrich portrays Dutch documentarian Joris Ivens, who depicts the relationship between writers Ernest Hemingway (Owen) and Martha Gellhorn (Kidman).

While the film won’t be out for a couple more months, fans can now view the new trailer which made its premiere last week across the internet. And as fans can see in the clip, Ulrich can hold his own against some of Hollywood’s acting heavyweights. Perhaps we’ll see more acting in his future?

Look for ‘Hemingway and Gellhorn’ to air on May 28. Check out the film’s short trailer below.
