Drinks are good but, if you really want to get a tasty buzz on, try soaking your favorite fruits in your favorite booze.
Gives you a cool, refreshing treat as well as a nice buzz and fruit is healthy and good for you. At least, it is before you soak it in tequila anyway. Here are a couple of things to try at your party this weekend. Enjoy!

  • Ingredients:
  • 4 cups fruit, sliced and pitted
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 3 sprigs basil, plus leaves for garnish
  • 1 ½ cup white rum, gin, or cachaca
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • What to do with all that:
  • 1. Place the fruit in a large bowl. Toss with sugar and basil sprigs.
  • 2. Stir in alcohol to cover fruit and refrigerate from 2 to 8 hours, stirring occasionally.
  • 3. Remove basil sprigs, stir in lime juice, garnish with basil leaves and serve.

Self explanatory and perfect for us here in The Borderland. Pour tequila and triple sec over watermelon wedges and let 'em soak. The longer the better. Add a spray of lime juice, some coarse salt and forget about driving or operating heavy machinery.

You can also do veggies and ice cream, click here to learn how.
