Walking Dead Actors Cancel El Paso Comic-Con Appearance
Two of my favorite characters of The Walking Dead were scheduled to show up at this weekend’s 2013 El Paso Comic-Con but have cancelled. People warned me this would happen, but I just wanted to believe it so badly! Is anyone else wondering what happened?
I have supported EPCON through the criticism I’ve been hearing since last year’s event, but I am really disappointed. The majority of their promotion was centered around actors from the popular television series, The Walking Dead. Michael Rooker (Merle Dixon) and IronE Singleton (T-Dog) were the faces of this year’s EPCON yet, they will not be there this weekend.
Some El Pasoans on social media have asked about refunds, but there are many that are still going to enjoy the booths and cosplay. I already have my tickets and I just want a reason to wear costumes so I will still be attending, but I know I am not the only one who feels a little deceived.
They did share photos of an e-mail discussing the situation about IronE Singleton’s cancellation on Facebook but the damage has been done. The hearts of Walking Dead fans have been ripped out and thrown to the zombies. All we can do now is make the most of this event and hope no one is wearing the same costume. Speaking of costumes, check out the sexy photos from last year’s EPCON.
