I've been in El Paso now for about 8 months. I spent some time before I moved here looking up a lot of different things. Where to live, places to visit, what to expect, etc. Here are some things that I've learned that I wasn't expecting since being in El Paso.

  1. I love Green Chile! - Seriously, if there's an option on the menu, chances are incredibly high I'm getting that item. But here's the problem. Chances are there's more than one option. That's when I spend an extended period of time trying to figure out what I want.
  2. I love Mexican Candy! - I had a friend bring over a bunch of Mexican Candy one day and now I am hooked. I don't understand what Buzz's big deal is. He's never tried it. So how does he know what it's like?
  3. It's windier than I thought - I looked up the weather before I moved and of course you see how hot it gets during the summer. But I was not expecting how windy it gets here.
  4. Snow! - Seriously, first winter I'm here there's over 7 inches of snow at my house. It was kind of cool though.
  5. Portion control is important - Going back to the whole food things. I learned early on that I had to have portion control when it came to meals. Between the green chile, BBQ, and all the other great food items here in El Paso, I packed on about 10 pounds in just the first month or so living here.
