Uber driving service performed a new marketing stunt to help stop drunk drivers on the road. Will we see it in El Paso?

In Toronto, Uber installed what they called an "Uber Safe Kiosk" where bar patrons could go and see if they've "earned" themselves a free ride. The kiosk was put on a busy street, full of bars, where patrons could see the kiosk and see if they drank too much to drive. The machine dispenses a tube to insert into the machine then blow into. The screen shows you when you have blown enough to accurately judge your alcohol intake. After, the machine calibrates if you are indeed over the limit. If yes, then you have earned yourself a free ride home.

In the video, you see many of the partiers enthusiastically trying out the new machine to get their free ride home. Uber states in the video that drunk driving accidents triple after midnight. The message on the machine reads "You drink, we drive, blow here for a ride on us."

There's a chance that these machines will show up in more cities with Uber, at least as a marketing stunt. Eventually they would most likely start charging at these kiosks, but it would at least help bar patrons know more about the service. Hopefully we can see it soon in El Paso!
