Iconic Nine Inch Nails pioneer Trent Reznor has been nominated for yet another Golden Globe Award for his work with longtime collaborator Atticus Ross, scoring ‘The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.’ The duo captured the 2011 ‘Best Original Score’ Golden Globe for the music from ‘The Social Network,’ and are looking to achieve back-to-back wins in 2012.

We recently reported on Reznor’s music video for his re-imagining of the Led Zeppelin cornerstone track ‘Immigrant Song,’ which features Yeah Yeah Yeah’s vocalist Karen O. ‘Immigrant Song’ is just one of the pieces that will accent the English-language film version of ‘The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.’

Reznor and Ross will square off against composers Ludovic Bource for ‘The Artist,’ Abel Korzeniowski for ‘W.E.,’ Howard Shore for ‘Hugo’ and possibly their greatest competition in the prolific modern composer, John Williams, who’s nominated for ‘War Horse.’ Williams is known for scoring some of the most popular and successful films of all time, such as the ‘Jurassic Park,’ ‘Schindler’s List’ and the ‘Indiana Jones’ and ‘Star Wars’ sagas.

Meanwhile, Soundgarden singer Chris Cornell has also been nominated for a 2012 Golden Globe for his solo song ‘The Keeper’ from ‘Machine Gun Preacher.’ Cornell will also face heavy competition for the statue, including Elton John, Mary J. Blige and Madonna. If he wins, Cornell will be able to place his Golden Globe Award beside the Grammy Awards that Soundgarden has won for the singles ‘Black Hole Sun’ and ‘Spoonman.’

The Golden Globes take place Jan. 15 in Beverly Hills, Calif. Check out all of the nominees here.
