Throwback To The Summer Getaway At Mountain Shadow Lake

Throwback Thursday should consist of remembering this old hang out spot during the summer days! Mountain Shadow Lake is a place you should remember visiting back in the early 90’s.

When I was trolling You Tube I stumbled across this lovely gem that Arturo Durado created. You will also notice on the bottom right corner of the video displaying another smaller clip that will stun you. Back in the early 90’s Klaq celebrated our Balloonfest out at Mountain Shadow Lake as you will see above. Now  I don’t remember visiting Mountain Shadow Lake but some of my relatives and friends remember it well. Mountain Shadow Lake no longer exists and is just pure desert as the drone will show you what remains. Mountain Shadow Lake is located about 10 miles East of Horizon Blvd but is closed off to the public. In 2015 KVIA did a story on the lake which was still full of water but the footage the drone caught shows nothing but dry land. I went out to the location today and is a really quiet place with no one around but had a sign mentioning armed security. I hope this will make you smile and bring back some fond memories you had when visiting Mountain Shadow Lake.
