Up to this point in the band’s career, Three Days Grace has released three albums, with a gap of three years from one to the next.

This month marks two years since ‘Life Starts Now’ hit the streets, and frontman Adam Gontier has hinted that the next 3DG album might beat the full three-year mark by several months.

“We’re working on the next record right now,” Gontier recently said during an interview with WGRD. “Whether or not it’s going to be another year until it comes out, I don’t think so. It might be a shorter period this time around … we’ll see what happens.”

As of Sept. 20, when Three Days Grace played Grand Rapids, Mich., as part of the Rockstar Energy Drink Uproar Festival, Gontier’s band was “maybe a little over halfway there” in the writing process for the forthcoming album.

“We record everything that we write,” he said. “We’re not recording the actual record, but we’re recording the songs that we’re writing. When we get home [to Canada], we’ll take a bit of time and record the [album].”

Meanwhile, the Rockstar Energy Drink Uproar Festival has 11 shows remaining, and 3DG will be in Calgary for the next one, which is scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 28.
