A shocking surveillance video from the San Antonio Aquarium shows three thieves brazenly stealing a shark by pretending it was a baby. Three guys in Texas must have really been enjoying Shark Week and decided they wanted to bring some of the fun home with them after visiting the aquarium. Surveillance video from the San Antonio Zoo showed the thieves stealing a horn shark from an open pool at the aquarium where visitors get to touch the various animals in the tank. One of the men is seen grabbing the shark by the tail and the other two cover the shark in a wet blanket or towel and take the animal into a back room. From there, they took the shark and put him into a bucket and hid the bucket into a stroller.

Thankfully, an employee of the aquarium noticed something was wrong and immediately notified management to what was happening. Workers were able to catch the group outside by their truck, but one man said his son was sick and he had to take him home and wouldn't let workers search the vehicle. The man drove off but left the two other people, a man and a woman behind at the scene of the crime. The crime was broadcast on the local news and tips started pouring in as to who the thieves were and where the truck could be located. A 38 year-old man was arrested in connection with the theft and police say the shark was returned back to the aquarium Monday night. According to Jen Spellman, general manager of the San Antonio Aquarium, the shark was in good health when he was returned:

"The individual obviously had some knowledge on how to deal with these types of animals, we said that from the very beginning, otherwise why take it? And when we got into the garage and into the house, it looked like almost a mockup of (the aquarium). He had a lot of different marine animals in the home. (He) very much knew what he was doing -- kept that animal alive and was able to continue to see that animal thrive which was pretty shocking to all of us. He had had one of these in the past. I think the animal had died sometime in the past. Obviously he likes those types of animals."
