These ladies gave a new definition to horror movies and sexiness since day one.

Lets begin with The Bride of Frankenstein whose character name was Mary Wollstonecraft Shelly played by Elsa Lanchester. Elsa modeled the Bride's hissing on the hissing of swans. She actually ended up with a sore throat while filming the hissing scene.

Then we have the mysterious Vampira played by Maila Nurmi. The idea was born in 1953 when Nurmi attended the annual Bal Caribe Masquerade wearing the costume inspired by Morticia Addams. Her husband, Dean Riesner came up with the name Vampira. Her character was influenced by 'The Dragon Lady' from the comic strip Terry and the Pirates and the evil queen from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

The gorgeous and lovable wife Lily Munster played by Yvonne De Carlo in the show The Munsters is our next beauty. Lily had a werewolf for a brother and is usually the voice of reason in the Munster family. De Carlo got the offer to play Lily in 1964 and since day one she was told to play her just like Donna Reed.

In The Addams Family, there were two ladies that had the pleasure to play the part of Morticia Addams. We have Carolyn Jones and Anjelica Huston. Morticia, who raises man eating plants and lights candles with her fingertips is also often the calm center of the chaotic events of the household.

And last but definitely not least, Elvira played by Cassandra Peterson. In 1981, Peterson along with her best friend Robert Redding came up with the image of the legendary and busty Elvira (and we couldn't be more thankful!!)
