The Adventure Continues: Street Food El Paso Style
Ok, I don’t think you can call it “street” food per say ,because it was technically a stand alone restaurant , plus it wasn’t a late night ,after pounding down cold malty drinks kind of a meal. I had it for lunch. So shoot me!
This week I take you to the Lower Valley, corner of Delta and Alameda.
The place, Rainbow Torta #3
I had the tasty Pork Carnitas with the works, lettuce, tomato, a fire roasted jalapeno and a red salsa on a toasted bollio (Mexican white bread).YEAH those were the WORKS !! , oh yeah, and a Large Agua de Sandia (Watermelon drink for you non Spanish speakers)
From a scale of 1 to 10, I give it a 7. The carnitas were lacking flavor, my torta was missing avocado maybe it would have brought it up a point, but overall it was a good meal for $6.00. Maybe if they were open after a late night of pouring down a few cold one, I would have giving them a better score. You be the judge; check them out on your next outing.
