Well, doggone it – that had to hurt! Believe it or not, Texas police say they are still investigating an incident that happened over the weekend involving a carless dog, a shotgun and some buckshot in the dog’s owner.

According to reports, the dog was doing what most dogs do on a Saturday night in Fort Worth - roaming around the house with hopes that their owner will feed them something delicious for dinner - when it bumped into a shotgun, leaning against the wall, causing it to hit the floor and fire off a round into the foot of a 78-year-old woman.

However, even though the woman was quite obviously injured, she did not call for medical attention until the following morning after noticing that her foot was swollen. We’re going to go out on a limb and say that she is lucky she still has a foot.

Sharron Neal, a spokesperson for the police department, said there will likely be no charges brought up in this case because the woman isn’t blaming the dog, and the dog appears to be taking full advantage of his right to remain silent.
