A Texas veterinarian is being investigated for allegedly killing a cat with a bow and arrow.

A Brenham, Texas veterinarian has been fired and is now being investigated for animal cruelty.  Kristen Lindsey was a veterinarian at a Texas animal clinic until Friday, when the clinic acknowledged that the woman had worked there, but they had now parted ways. Since then, the Washington Animal Clinic where she used to work has now been distancing themselves from the woman, saying they do not condone her behavior. Lindsey posted a photo on her Facebook page, of a cat that she shot and killed with a bow and arrow in her backyard. In the photo, Lindsey is smiling as she hold the cat by the arrow that is going through his head. Under the photo she wrote:

My first bow kill... lol. The only good feral tomcat is one with an arrow through it's head. Vet of the year award... gladly accepted.

Unfortunately for a family living near Kristen Lindsey, their cat Tiger has now been missing for two weeks. The cat was domesticated and lived inside the home with the family. The family believes that the cat Lindsey shot through the head was actually their house pet Tiger. Here's a photo of Tiger, to compare to the one of the dead cat allegedly shot by Lindsey.

There's a Facebook page that has been set up by animal rights activists to give the family support if it is their cat that was killed. The page has over 35,000 likes. Kristen Lindsey also had a support page on Facebook as of yesterday, but the page was taken down this morning. That page had 40 likes last night.

The Austin County Sheriff made a statement this morning, saying that the investigation is ongoing, and animal rights activists need to be patient. Arresting someone for this crime isn't that simple:

We can’t arrest and charge someone like that based on a picture on the internet. We have to make sure that is true and correct. Anybody can take a computer and alter a photograph.

The Austin County Sheriff's Office said the investigation is ongoing and that they will continue to look into this case. You can read more about this story on The Inquisitr website.
