A Texas teen was bitten by a venomous snake after playing Pokemon Go and not paying attention to where he was walking.

It seems like all anyone can talk about or do lately involves Pokemon Go. A Texas teen was so engrossed in his game that he was bitten by a snake on his way to a park. Lane Smith, 18, was trying to catch a Pokemon in the augmented reality game in Flower Mound, Texas. Flower Mound is a suburb north of Dallas and Fort Worth, Texas.

Smith was out playing Pokemon Go with friends when they noticed that a park nearby was a Pokestop. On their way to Parker Square, the teens were looking at their phones and didn't notice a snake in their way. According to the Star-Telegram, the teens think the snake was a copperhead, a snake that is guilty for the majority of snake bites in the United States each year. Apparently Smith's friends saw the snake, but not in enough time to warn the teen before he got too close.

The teen told authorities he saw the snake, but not close enough to distinguish what it was. He believed it was a stick when he stepped on it wearing sandals. The snake bit him on his right big toe. The bite mark was red and swollen, which is a sign that venom has penetrated the skin.

Smith then called his mom to tell her what happened and she advised him to come home before they took him to the hospital. When they arrived, doctors examined the wound to see how much venom entered his body. Lucky for Smith, only one of the snake's fangs broke skin, which meant he didn't need to take anti-venom. He was nursed back to health and was released form the hospital last week.

This is only one of many stories that have been popping up of people putting themselves in harm's way. From a man in New York who created his car into a tree, two men who walked off a cliff in California and even players who have found dead bodies. The game is addicting for players and is causing them to not be alert to their surroundings and putting themselves in danger.
