Texas Named The 2nd Most Diverse State In The US

They say everything is bigger in Texas, even how diverse the people living here are!

Personal-finance website WalletHub likes to look like different variables and things within the United States, from the worst state to raise a family, best city to start a business in, the best city to flip a house and more.

Currently in the United States, there are a lot of issues regarding diversity in different parts of the country, as well as questions regarding the future of the DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) program. So for this analysis, WalletHub decided to look at which states are the most and least diverse in the country.

To find out more information on the diversity of each state, WalletHub looked at 5 categories: socio-economic, cultural, economic, household and religious diversity. Lucky for Texans, it looks like the Lone Star state came out at the second most diverse state in the country!

Here is where Texas came in for the study:

• 21^st – Income Diversity
• 10^th – Educational-Attainment Diversity
• 3^rd – Racial & Ethnic Diversity
• 3^rd – Linguistic Diversity
• 26^th – Birthplace Diversity
• 2^nd – Industry Diversity*
• 18^th – Occupational Diversity*
• 27^th – Marital-Status Diversity
• 17^th – Household-Type Diversity
• 5^th – Household-Size Diversity
• 6^th – Religious Diversity

Texas came in third in for the most racial and ethnic diversity, and third for the most language diversity. Texas was also the second  in industry diversity and fifth in household size diversity.
