A Texas mom has been arrested for allegedly putting her child in the family's oven intentionally. The child suffered severe burns.

A mother in Glen Rose, Texas has been arrested for an absolutely shocking crime against her own child.

Tasha Shontelle Hatcher, 35, was arrested after witnesses told police the mother admitted putting her two year-old toddler in the oven. According to Somerville County Sheriff's Office, law enforcement was called to a home because of a child in the home with severe burns. When deputies arrived, a neighbor told them that the child's mother, Hatcher, walked over to the neighbor's house for assistance with the little girl's injuries. That's when the neighbor decided to call the police.

The little girl was rushed to a Fort Worth hospital, before being airlifted to a burn center in Dallas. She suffered 2nd and 3rd degree burns on her body and is being treated. According to the Glen Rose Reporter, the child is believed to be in stable condition and has been taken from the family's custody.

The girl's mother is now being charged with injury to a child with serious bodily injury, which is a first degree felony. Residents of Somerville County have said that Hatcher has a history of drug use and that her older son had been taken from her custody in the past.According to her Facebook page, Hatcher worked at a Quality Inn and Suites and the StoneWater Church in Glen Rose.
